Moroccan Walnut Couscous Bowl II

£500.00

A hand-carved Moroccan couscous bowl in walnut, dating to the early 20th century. This example shows a life properly lived: the surface is richly worn and scarred by use, with areas of darkened patina and a repair that speaks to its value within the home it served. Broad in form and quietly sculptural, it reflects the intelligence of vernacular domestic objects—pieces shaped by ritual, repetition and the rhythms of everyday life.

Originally made for communal dining, its rougher character makes it especially suited today as a display piece—on a table, shelf or console—holding fruit, objects or simply air, with the evidence of time left visible.
