Bakelite container

A rare two-tone German Bakelite container from the 1920s, finished with a sterling silver ball handle. Hand-turned and polished, the surface has a subtle lustre—almost glassy in low light—set against a distinctive black and amber colourway, with contrasting tones between lid and base.

A small object of the Art Deco period: precise in silhouette, tactile in the hand, and quietly architectural on a shelf or bedside table.
