Finds from Japan is the result of time spent travelling across Japan and sourcing slowly, area by area, object by object. From larger towns to quieter rural places, we were drawn to pieces that seemed to hold something of their setting — a clarity of form, a sensitivity to material and a quiet sense of purpose.
Rather than looking for one fixed style, we selected objects that carried the atmosphere of where we found them: pieces shaped by daily use, careful making and an enduring respect for material. Each was chosen in person for its proportion, surface and presence, but also for the way it spoke of place — capturing something of the essence of each area we passed through.
Together, the edit brings together vintage objects with a grounded, tactile and quietly architectural quality. Varied in origin yet connected in spirit, the collection reflects a way of living in which beauty resides in utility, patina and form.
